Our Vision

To improve the care of patients by promoting the development of best practices, research and education in pathology and laboratory medicine.

Our Mission

Promote:

Education of the advances in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine to practicing community and academic pathologists, residents, fellows, and medical students.

The conservation and diffusion of the values of medical sciences and scientific development in Puerto Rico and the world.

An evidenced-based approached discussion of relevant topics in anatomic as well as clinical pathology.

Networking and collaboration of pathologists, clinicians and scientists that foster interinstitutional research.

Gloria Ramos Rivera, MD

President

Certified by the Board of American Pathology in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and cytopathology. She worked at the biopharmaceutical industry for five years while studying a master degree in environmental management at UMET.

María del Mar Rivera Rolón, MD

Secretary

Dr. Rivera Rolón is a diplomate of the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and Cytopathology. Dr. Rivera Rolón completed her anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch.

Miguel Noy Malavé, MD, FCAP

Treasurer

Dr. Miguel Noy Malavé, certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomical and clinical pathology, completed his bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) in Mayagüez.

Juan C. Santa Rosario, MD, FCAP, FASCP

Social Media Director

Puerto Rican pathologist, currently the Chief Medical Officer for CorePlus Servicios Clínicos y Patológicos, a pathology laboratory in Puerto Rico. He is board-certified in Clinical and Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
